Something To Think About

Something To Think About

From Pastor Allen

Each year thousands of people in North America come to the conclusion that life isn’t worth living. Some take poison; others jump from bridges or apartment buildings, while others resort to a gun. Are these people right? Is life worth living after all? Well one thing is for sure life is not worth living if you live it only for earthly rewards.
Jay Gould, a multimillionaire, said, I”I am the most miserable man on this earth.” Ivan Krueger, wealthy head of a large monopoliy, committed suicide.
Kurt Cobain, lead singer for the world famous rock group Nirvana, took his own life with a shotgun. Edgar Allan Poe, famous poet, drank himself to death.
Napoleon died a lonely, horrible death on the Isle where he was exiled. Julius Caesar was assassinated. Hannibal took poison. Mussolini was executed. Hitler committed suicide.
Earthly things cannot guarantee a fulfilled life. But life is worth living if you live it for Christ! The brilliant apostle Paul said, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21) Jerry McCauley better known as “The river Thief” found so much joy in living after he started to live for Christ that he established rescue missions to tell the good news that life was worth living when it is lived for Jesus. People from all walks of life have found that a life lived for Christ is a life of joy. How does Jesus Christ make life worth living?
1. He forgives all you past sins.
2. He gives hope and help for the present.
3. Jesus Christ has promised everlasting life and a home that is eternal.
Jesus Christ can save you from eternal death and make your life worth living, but Jesus simply asks one thing of you, that you give your life to him. If you will do this in simple faith and sincerity, Jesus will make your life worth living. Jesus said, "The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." John 10:10
